In the crisis-ridden early 1990s, the Ducati 750 SS developed into a bestseller. The 750 SS is the first Ducati that was equipped with Mikuni carburetors and Denso ignition. The motorcycle was introduced in 1991 as the successor of the built only two years 750 Sport. With the new Supersport series should, at least by name, be linked to the successes of the first SS series, which had emerged from the Ducati 750 GT. The engine of the new 750 SS came with some improvements from the first timing belt driven engine from Ducati , the Pantah.
